On October 26th Galactic will kick off their “Ten
Year Invasion” Tour, commemorating their first
decade as one of the world’s most exciting and
unique live bands. To assist in this full-scale nationwide
sonic assault, Galactic has enlisted master lyricist
Lyrics Born and eco friendly rockers ALO. The invasion
will begin in the northwest at the Crystal Bay Club
in Nevada before visiting Petaluma and Santa Cruz on
the way to the Fillmore in San Fran on 10/29. The band
will make a late night appearance at Las Vegas’
House of Blues on 10/30 as part of the weekend’s
Vegoose activities. From there the band will head south
to Austin, Texas’ Stubb’s BBQ for their
now annual Halloween shindig for which they will be
joined by good friends Mofro. In Cincinnati, the band
will link up with Lyrics Born who will stay aboard for
several dates. As always, Galactic’s two night
stand at Irving promises to be memorable. ALO will rejoin
on the second night and stay on until Nov. 17th in Philly.
We are very excited to have both Lyrics Born and ALO
lined up for this tour. Please see further info on both
of these great bands below.

Lyrics
Born
Lyrics
Born founded the seminal Northern California
hip-hop collective Solesides back in '92, along with
DJ Shadow and Blackalicious. As Solesides transmogrified
into Quannum, the hits kept coming and coming -- from
Shadow's Entroducing to Blackalicous' Nia
. For LB, his first brush with notoriety came in '97,
when a self-produced track entitled "Balcony
Beach" managed to elbow its way onto commercial
hip-hop radio in LA. Lyrics Born
seamlessly blends styles and defies categorization,
redefining what a good hip-hop album should be. He
brings us boundless funk and head-nodding bliss on
his album Later That Day,
a day-in-the-life, anecdotal window into Lyrics
Born's everyman existence.
ALO
Part
musical explorers, part pop songsmiths, all-around
dynamic performers, ALO have been
taking the West Coast by storm and now, with their
new album Fly Between Falls
and a supporting slot on Jack Johnson's
summer tour, are prepared to make their presence known
worldwide. ALO aims to make every one of their shows
an event rather than just a performance, laying soulful
melodies and swirling improvisation over precision
funk grooves night after night. The band skillfully
weaves quirky California soul with shape-shifting
explorations, introspective lyrics with sun-soaked
funk, all infused with the uplifting vibe that ALO's
ever-growing legion of fans live for. Many genres
have been thrown around to capture what the San
Francisco Chronicle ultimately dubbed "sex-music
boogaloo."

Galactic's
thoughts and prayers go out to everyone whose lives
have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. As residents
of New Orleans each one of us is terribly saddened
by this tragedy. We want to let everyone know that
all of the band members, crew and family are safe.
We
encourage everyone to contribute to the relief efforts.
Below is info on how to help. We will be looking into
