Announce “Bring The Houseman Home” Benefit Show For
Theryl DeClouet
On March 23 At Tipitina's
Galactic are excited to announce a very special
benefit concert for their longtime friend and former bandmate Theryl "Houseman" DeClouet
on March 23 at Tipitina’s Uptown. This event will be a multi-band
night of great New Orleans music full of surprises and collaborations,
including DeClouet on lead vocals for Galactic's set. Joining the
lineup are Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Revivalists, John Gros and
June Yamagishi from Papa Grows Funk, and several unannounced special
guests.
DeClouet relocated to Chicago after Hurricane
Katrina took everything he owned. The goal of the evening is to
assist DeClouet in his efforts to re-settle in his hometown of
New Orleans as it will further enrich the musical community to
have him back where he belongs. This will be an amazing night of
music for a great cause! Doors open at 8:30PM and the show starts
at 9PM.

week we're announcing our Mardis
Gras shows in NOLA (with very special guests Fishbone
on Feb 9th and Red Baraat on Feb 11th) and the April
Spring tour dates. We'll be making stops in some of our
favorite towns throughout the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast.
Nigel Hall Band (Soulive/Lettuce) will join us on the road along with the legendary
Toots and the Maytals for our Boston and NYC shows.

2013 Freeze Out Tour Feb 8-Mar 3
We are excited
to announce our February 2013 “Freeze Out Tour” which
will embark from Mardi Gras in New Orleans before heading out
west. Alternative hip hop group LATYRX
feat. Lyrics Born & Lateef the Truthspeaker will join
us as the opener for most of the dates. They will without a doubt
be an amazing addition to these shows and we're looking forward
to sharing the stage and collaborating again. We'll also be joined
by BOOMBOX in Lawrence,
KS and Monophonics for
the first night of our two night stand in Denver. Other cities
include Seattle, Los Angeles, Aspen, Salt Lake City, and two
nights in San Francisco at The Fillmore. The fan club pre-sale
begins today and tickets for most shows are on sale to the public

In other tour news, we're getting ready to head back to Japan at the end of this
week for a few shows in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. We can't wait to see our amazing
Japanese fans again so soon after the great time we had at Fuji Rock this summer.

Indaba Remix Contest Launch
We
are excited to announce the official launch of our remix
contest for Ha Di Ka (feat. Big Chief Juan Pardo and the
Golden Commanche) in partnership with Indaba
Music, a website/platform for musicians around
the world to network and make music together through
online collaboration. The contest is open to
all Indaba Music members, and if you aren’t one
already you can join for free at www.indabamusic.com. Winners
will receive a cash prize, signed merch, and have their
remix included on an official remix EP.
The deadline to submit remixes is December 3rd,
and voting closes on December 17th. We’ll be listening to all of the
submissions ourselves and selecting the winners. Can’t

afterparty w/Gypsyphonic Disko, 10/26 Dallas & 10/27 Austin). Don’t

Australia Recap + Capitol Theatre w/ Allen Toussaint 10/6
We just
back from the Caloundra
Music Festival where we had the chance to play 3 amazing
sets over the course of the weekend. This past week in
Australia has been an eye opening experience. The people, fans,
and our natural surroundings were so beautiful. We are
so grateful that our "job" takes us to such amazing places.
Up next we’ve got our highly anticipated show at the recently re-opened Capitol
Theatre in Port Chester, NY, this Saturday Oct. 6th. We’ll be
joined by very special guest Allen Toussaint for
this show. Tickets are
still available for the time being, but going fast. Don’t miss out

2012 Tour
The
Sep 2012 tour is under way this week. We kicked things off
with two exciting back to school shows in Baton Rouge at the
Varisty Theatre and New Orleans at Tipitina's last weekend.

9/15. We'll be hosting the GPNFest
after party that night at Higher Ground in Burlington and
will be joined by some great Grand Point North special guests.
From there we'll work our way back down through the Southeast
capping things off at The
Georgia Theatre in Athens on 9/22 before heading off to
Australia to play three sets at the Caloundra
Music Festival. This should be
a fantastic run and we're thrilled to be joined by some great
support acts including Moon
Hooch, Yo
Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Moon
Taxi and more.
