T Bird and the Breaks
T Bird and the Breaks have come on strong on the Austin music scene over the past two years. They have seen their debut record consistently played on radio; they’ve sold out shows at the region’s top venues; and they’ve earned endless write-ups on their big, blood-boiling sound and a buzz that has people talking from Austin to London. T Bird and the Breaks embarked on a singles campaign in November 2009, releasing a two- song, 7-inch vinyl 45 every month. The band’s bass player wrote the following about the origin of the band and the players in it.

ALO
ALO is not a band that dwells in the past. They are always moving forward. Always striving to discover new ideas. Always looking to go on new adventures. Their latest adventure, Man of the World (to be released February 9, 2010 on Brushfire Records), finds the Cali collective flexing their considerable creative powers to craft their finest album yet. Recorded almost entirely live, the 11-song collection is the sound of four players who have truly found their groove together. This is ALO at their most natural, their most organic and their most pure. Man of the World is the next level for ALO.

Cedric Burnside and Lil' Malcolm
Mississippi Hill Country bluesmen Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcolm are burning up the road these days in support of their 2008 CD 2 Man Wrecking Crew. The Delta Groove Music release earned the duo a coveted Blues Music Award for "Best New Artist Debut" earlier this year, as well as a Blues Blast Music Award nomination in the magazine's upcoming ceremony.

Update from the Band - posted 10/29/09
Wow, we can't believe that we are half way through this tour. We are having so much fun, it is just flying by. It was great to get back to Chapel Hill, NC. It had been about 8 or 9 years since we have played the Cat's Cradle, and the place looked just the same! We had our good friend David Y Lee come out and take some pictures of our day in Chapel Hill. Check them out here.

Who would of thought that an off season show on marthas vineyard would be so much fun? Yes there were a few less people than a typical summer show up there. But that didn't keep anyone from having as much fun! What a great and appriciative crowd! Oh, and we played a new tune called "f to the bone" for the first time! -rm

Update from the Band - posted 10/16/09
Played our first show at the Brooklyn Bowl last night. We drove all the way from NOLA to Brooklyn and ended up showing up 4 hours late on a rainy afternoon. We hustled to get our gear set up, didn't have enough time to get the video/light show going (will be set up on Saturday though!) the place is amazing--The food, the lanes, the people. Doesn't feel like you are in NY--or even close to it. We are really looking forward to getting back there on Saturday--this time on time and hopefully no rain!

We are really really excited to be putting the final touches on our new album. This album is a collaboration between us and some of our favorite New Orleans' artists--from Allen Toussaint to Sissy Nobby. Ben has been the mad scientist behind the project and y'all should expect the unexpected. This sh*t is going to blow your mind. - Robert

Update From The Band
This summer has been really nice. Our schedule has allowed us to spend the weekends playing festivals in some of the most beautiful parts of the country, and spend the weekdays working on finishing our new album in New Orleans. This week, we flew home from a festival in Long Island to start working on a song with Allen Toussaint! This weekend is what looks like an awesome festival is Denver, called the Mile High Festival. Hope to see our CO crew in full effect!

Bonnaroo
We once again made it to Manchester, TN for the annual meeting of everyone you have known in the last 10 years and you forgot their name aka Bonnaroo. We had an amazing time playing on the main stage. That is one huge stage with a matching huge PA. We felt like a MAC truck driving through the TN flatlands. We brought along Trombone Shorty and Corey Henry to help play some brass. One highlight was seeing 10,000 fans memorized by Corey and Shorty's 10 minute improvised trombone dual, another highlight was seeing Triumph the Insult Comic Dog harassing Ben during his DJ set in the Silent Disco.

Update From The Band
This is a little glimpse of what the 1st weekend of jazzfest has been like for us. We have all been very busy with Galactic and the many other projects that we are part of. It has been exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. We wouldn't trade it for world.
